She has earned numerous honors and awards including the 2021 Health Educator Teacher of the Year by NC Association for the Advancement of Health Education of NC SHAPE. I am excited to work with the staff to establish the facility as the premier aquatics resource in our community and benefit Country Day students for decades to come.Įyler has more than 15 years of experience serving in various capacities as a health and physical educator and swim coach, including assistant swim coach for Division I Swim Programs at the University of Maryland and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. It is truly a privilege for me to join this community. I am honored to be chosen to open the Klein Aquatic Center and be part of the Country Day family. In addition, Eyler is responsible for partnering with Mecklenburg County as a location to learn, grow, and promote the sport of swimming while proudly representing Country Day athletics. Both pools will provide ample practice space for our Middle School and varsity swim teams. We are excited to welcome her enthusiastic and hands-on approach to the Country Day family.”Įyler is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a new comprehensive aquatics program for the new 30,000 square foot Klein Aquatic Center, which will house an eight-lane, 25-yard competition pool, and a five-lane, 25-yard warm-up/activity pool, allowing for aquatics programming at all age levels. Juggling between being a coach and a teacher, Meredith is a highly organized professional, a skilled educator, and an effective communicator with a passion for the sport of swimming.
